Colony Flow! Difficulty Curve Explained: When Does It Get Hard?

Levels 1–99 are a gentle warm-up. Around level 100 the boards get busier, and past level 500 the corridors get brutally tight. Here is exactly when and why the game ramps up.

We have played through hundreds of boards and the curve is consistent. Beginner levels (1–99) are sparse: few colors, obvious openings, almost any route works. Intermediate levels (100–499) introduce crossing routes — the order you clear pairs starts to matter, and one early mistake can seal a color into a corner.

Advanced boards (500+) are where Colony Flow! gets serious. Long winding routes cross each other more than once, corridors are tight, and a single block placement can decide the run. The skill that separates players at this stage is route ordering, not route finding: know which pair to clear first, and which corridor to keep open for a pair that crosses it later.
